I started my email newsletter in 2018.
Since then I’ve regularly sent an email every Friday.
The topics have upgraded from branding/marketing to self-improvement and now “mentorship for coaching biz” for the last 2 years.
In between, I’ve launched a dozen or so lead magnets too.
I was in love with email marketing, or at least that’s what I wanted to believe in my head.
Dropping the lead magnet automation
The more I bring authenticity to my business, the more transparency I intend to put out.
The thought behind a lead magnet is — I give you something, and in return, you give me your email. I’ll use the email to send you newsletters every week.
This way, you also get added to an automated email sequence.
You know what I’m talking about.
And now — I’ve decided to drop this process.
I’m putting out all the free value, for free. I don’t want your email address in return.
There’s still value in newsletters
By subscribing to my newsletter, you will:
- learn how to create sustainable coaching biz with love and ease
- be the first ones to know whenever I create a new offer
- get my best content + recommendations every week
Here’s what I’ll lose when I leave Mailerlite
- No more automated drip emails.
- No welcome series nurturing.
- No more segmentations.
Here’s what I’ll miss in substack now
Personalized first name.
I love when I receive email newsletters starting with, “Hi Dipanshu,…”.
Seems a little more personalized.
That’s the biggest feature I would have wanted in substack, which is missing as of now.
Why I chose substack over other tools
- It’s free. Forever. Instead of $15/month, I was spending with mailerlite.
- I get to have all archives of my emails publicly available.
- I’ll create a more focused audience through this.
Is this for you?
Do you wish to use automated emails for your biz?
If yes, don’t go for substack. Try mailerlite or convertkit.
If you intend to keep your marketing simple and straightforward, try substack. Focus on delivering free value, for free.
