Review

“The Tantric Curse” is an amazingly written book by Anupama Garg, that decodes a lot of myths prevailing our society. It deliver some exceptionally suited and well related logical explanations to the subject.

Quoting Wikipedia-

Tantra (Sanskrit: तन्त्र), also called Tantrism and Tantric religion, is an ancient Indian tradition of beliefs and meditation and ritual practices that seeks to channel the divine energy of the macrocosm or godhead into the human microcosm,[1] to attain siddhis andmoksha.

Through a well knitted love story, author goes on to describe the beliefs and practices regarding Tantra, amidst the conversations. The story of Rhea and Krishnam, vibrates the cords of a reader’s heart. The fiction and mythology, in this book, is blended beautifully.
The narration is done in an amazing way. It grips the reader. The narration actually makes this book a page turner. With the great level of intellect hidden inside, the reader keeps craving for more. So, some readers may find this book ending entirely too soon.
The issue of feminism is raised aptly, via the protagonist Rhea. She is portrayed strongly. Her character is adorable. The overall characters are spanned impressively. The sequence of incidents presented by the author is well knit.
It was astonishing to see, that alongwith explaining the science of Tantra, the author also explained the ill-effects of Tantra. It is similar to providing a balance to literary universe.
At times, the book has self-help material in it. I liked the way Satya imparted his knowledge to Rhea. Consider his quote about Vidya (Education)

“Vidya is only a tool; it aids you to bring about a change within yourself. Don’t hold on to this tool, only discover what lies beyond it.” (Page- 124)

The writing style of the author is convincing, which was a must for this kind of book. The readers needs to be open minded in order to accept this book. The reader may have to accept the fact that some things happen for a reason: unknown reasons sometimes, to enjoy this craft work.
The language used is simple and effective. The twists and suspense in the book, keep the readers hooked to the story. The book is edited and designed well. The simplicity is intriguing.
The only thing that could hurt the impression of the book are the prejudices it brings along with its title and cover. Praise the Lord, this work needs to be read without any prejudiced thought.

Cover and Title

The cover is designed beautifully. The magical eyes, the illusion design around the head, and a girl standing amidst the magic; all this gives a tantric look to the cover. The tittle and cover are both appropriate and catchy.
